One of the most common symptoms of anxiety attack is rapid heartbeat. At times, a feeling of heaviness in chest also is seen which might mislead the people to think that it is a heart attack.

Excessive heart beat is a common reaction of the body to the anxiety. For some people, it is also accompanied by shortness of breath. While some people just experience mild difficulty in breathing, for some others it may lead to feeling dizzy.

Another common symptom of anxiety attack is the process of excessive sweating or flushing. It is more common to face and neck. At times, people feel that they have an excessively high temperature and at times, they feel that they are shivering.

This contrast is a very important symptom of anxiety attacks.

Nausea and vomiting are other symptoms that some people face. The sudden onset of panic causes these symptoms and people often mistake it for issues such as indigestion.

However, it is a fairly common symptom that is associated with anxiety. Many people also have a heightened sense of skin sensitivity during this period.

For example, they may react differently to touch and they may feel that it is very cold or hot even though there is no variation in the actual temperature.

A strong attack of anxiety can even cause the body to shiver or shake rapidly and uncontrollably. It depends on the level of anxiety and panic.

Some people experience a slight trembling when they try to move, where as some others find it difficult even to stand up in a steady manner. Another common symptom is the weakening of legs and arms.

Some people feel that there is no strength left in their hands and legs because of panic. Excessive thirst, inability to eat any food, frequent urination is other symptoms of anxiety attack.

A high level of tension can also lead to migraine and headache in some people and this kind of headache takes a while to subside. Another frequent symptom that is seen commonly is blurring of vision where people fail to see clearly.

The level of symptoms depends highly on the level of anxiety. At times, these symptoms may occur together or they can occur by themselves.

Some people are able to identify the symptoms of anxiety accurately but then it is difficult for them to thwart it so that anxiety attack can be controlled.

However, once symptoms are accurately identified, people can reduce the level of anxiety that is faced by them.

Dealing With Anxiety

Dealing with Anxiety? All right let’s cut right to the chase with this topic.  In this post I am going to reveal to you five easy strategies for how to deal with anxiety.  These strategies will allow you to find relief from your anxiety.

1. Be sure to take frequent breaks from your work. Working vigorously devoid of frequent breaks is a really quick means of building up stress & tension. Regardless of whether you are dealing with anxiety or not, it is still smart to be sure to take at the very least a 15 minute break in the am and at least one other 15 minute break in the afternoon.  And for your lunch break 60 minutes is ideal but if you cannot manage that, you require at least 30 minutes. Also if you can swing it, be sure to step away from your place of work for these breaks. Also if you’re dealing with a ton in your life at the moment, taking a day or two and getting away will allow you to clear your head and unwind.  Even if it is only one day away from your regular routine, this will allow you to distance yourself from your present situation and allow you to get your thoughts in order, which is imperative when learning how to deal with anxiety.

2. Exercise is very important for you when it comes to dealing with anxiety.  A consistent exercise routine can help reduce stress, depression and anxiety. When you exercise you release endorphins into your body and these endorphins give you a natural shot of energy and a positive upbeat feeling.  And almost as important, exercising daily will give you that needed break from thinking about and lingering on your problems and concerns.  However this is true only if you engage in the correct style of exercise. You should try to steer away from exercises that allow you the time to think about our situation, such as running or biking.  Instead focus on engaging in exercises that require all of your concentration.  Typically this would be any competitive sports, like basketball, martial arts and tennis such as squash. It is crucial that when you are exercising you do not allow yourself the opportunity to be thinking about your problems.  Although you will be gaining the benefits physically, your mind will be stressing as you are concentrating on your problems, which is a bad thing with learning how to deal with anxiety.

3. One of the keys to dealing with anxiety is to not beat yourself up. Never being satisfied with yourself is a large part of the cause of anxiety. Every time you put yourself down or demand more of yourself, you are destroying your self-confidence.  One of the keys to grasping when learning how to deal with anxiety is do not say to yourself that you are no good, unintelligent, ugly, no fun, etc.  Do not allow yourself to be convinced by your mind that others dislike you either and that you should just be alone.  The rule of thumb is, if you would never say something to another person then do not say it to yourself.  Words even if said to yourself in your mind are incredibly powerful and they can do serious damage, especially when it comes to anxiety issues.  Get over the fact that you are not perfect, that no one is.  You will make mistakes, we all do, it is part of life, so give yourself a break.

4. Being alone all the time is another problem faced by people dealing with anxiety. Now I will be the first to admit that there are simply those times when you just want to be by yourself. The problem is during those times when we are alone, we keep ourselves company in our mind and we can too easily focus on all of the issues and problems that we are facing.  Which just increase our anxiety and stress levels. As an alternative during your alone time fill it with activities that will not allow you to dwell on your issues.  Stay busy.  Do what you love, whether it is reading a book, painting, playing a musical instrument, etc.  This allows you time alone to help you grow as a person and focus on how to deal with anxiety, rather than causing you more pain.

5. Turn off the negative TV.  Everything for the most part on the television is of a negative orientation.  The news focuses on the negative parts of our world, such as war, killings, storms, etc.  This constant negativity gives you the false impression that everything is going wrong everywhere.  Want to seriously learn how to deal with anxiety?  Try this, turn your TV off for one whole week, give yourself some time away from it.  You may even discover as I have that TV no longer has any place in your life.  You will find that the time you spent watching that garbage is now spent doing things you love with the people you love.  Plus you can use that time to also become more productive, etc.  Watch how your mind set improves in this week’s time.

So there you have it, 5 simple and easy tips to help when you are dealing with anxiety.  Give them a try, you will be glad you did. Learning how to deal with anxiety just takes practice.
